The wildlife and nature lover. A curious traveller, hungry for knowledge and deeper understanding of wildlife management and getting to know the bushveld. Each day offers an informal lecture on a relevant topic. This tour is suitable for a ‘first timer’ or those who have already experienced other safaris.

You do not require any particular fitness level, but rather good mobility to move in and out of safari vehicles with comfort. You also need to be able to walk with ease for at least 2-3 hours for the safari experience by foot.

This immersive experience is appropriate for guests 16 years and older. There is no maximum age restriction, but it requires good mobility.

A valid passport with at least one blank page, valid for at least 6 months after date of departure from South Africa.

Sufficient funds for your stay, a return onward flight ticket.

Yellow fever certificate only if you are travelling from or if your journey passes through the yellow fever belt.

No need to take malaria prophylaxis. This programme takes place in is a malaria free reserve.

A curious attitude and a great sense of adventure! We will provide you with a comprehensive packing list. But in general we recommend neutral coloured clothing in shades of Khaki, Beige and Green, in light natural fibres such as cotton and linen. Especially during winter and spring time, you will experience considerable temperature fluctuations during day and night time. Pack sufficient warm clothing for sunrise and sunset safaris, including a beanie and scarf. Light clothing & shorts for warmer day time temperatures, including a swimsuit. A sun hat & sun cream are essentials for the harsh South African sun.

Binoculars – highly recommended

A good camera , if you have it, but not a necessity as the photographic workshop can also be done using a good smartphone camera.

Although South Africa is considered an all-year round safari destination, May through to September is considered as optimum safari season due to the dryer climate. From October through to April, the northern region experiences summer rains.
