Frequently Asked Questions

You can travel to South Africa all year long, though remember that there are two different climates in the country: mediterranean climate in the south (sunny and hot in summer / cooler and humid in winter) and sub-tropical climate in the north of the country (humid in summer / cold and dry in winter with beautiful blue skies). Mid-season March/April and October/November would be your best choice if you want to combine both the north and the south of the country.

There is no  proper safari close to Cape Town but you can still have a very nice soft-safari experience in a small Big 5 reserve. Most of the reserves and national parks are situated in the north and on the East coast of the country.

Yes you can – please note that he ocean is warm and swimmable only above Durban, up north. Though South Africa is not a beach destination. Choose rather Mozambique for a beach destination!

Yes, although limited there are a few options available in the Pilanesberg National Park as well as the greater Kruger National Park in South Africa. In Botswana, there are also greater capacities in the Chobe National Park.

The temperature of the ocean is very cold in Cape Town (average 12°C to 16°C) but the local community likes to meet for cold water swimming sessions. Locals and internationals also enjoy the ocean for surfing, stand up paddle, wind surfing and kite surfing (with wet suits).
